It’s been a while since I last did reviews for a TV series. I’ve been a huge fan of Smallville ever since they first aired several years ago. While I’ll have to admit that their writers have really screwed up on several plot lines, it’s still very entertaining to watch, especially when the focus moved from Clark-Lana to Clark-Lois. Anyway, if you don’t know, Smallville is actually up to Season 9 now and based on several reports, there will be a Season 10.

Smallville S908 Review
Episode starts off with Lois’ dream with Clark half naked just after doing their “thing”. Eventually Lois wakes up from her daydream and finds herself just across Clark in their office at the daily planet. A messenger then comes in and asks Lois to sign for a package and the two go out to find a huge box in the garage. They open it and they find a bunch of tied-up cops and undercover agents covered with drug elements. The “S” symbol of the blur is posted outside, just across the building signifying that this was his handiwork. Clark is stunned as he realizes that someone is using his symbol.

The impostors are actually just big fans of the Blur. In the comics, they were called the Wonder Twins, Zan and Jayna. They have their own powers they use it to “help” the Blur. In one of their adventures though they destroy a power line which causes a massive blackout in Metropolis. Jayna makes the mistake of dropping her phone though and Clark picks it up and manages to trace them to their place. As the Blur, Clark managers to get both kids to Watch Tower where they meet Chloe and she explains that they’re doing more harm than good.

We go back to Lois. She’s currently seeing a shrink so that she can interpret the dreams that she’s been getting. Things become a little more complicated when the District Attorney challenges the Blur to reveal himself in public. The Blur (aka Clark) tries to call Lois to ask for much needed PR help but Lois doesn’t pick up the phone. Eventually she does pick up and literally lambasts the superhero for not calling regularly (Lol). Before they put down the phone though the Wonder Twins back in Watch Tower accidentally jams the voice disruption device in Clark’s phone revealing his real voice to Lois!

In the press conference called by the DA, Lois steps up and speaks up for the Blur. She gives a touching piece on why the Blur should continue to keep his identity secret. The DA is enraged and decides to get payback later on. Clark, by the way, is really happy with what Lois did.

Back to the Daily Planet. Lois has a single rose in her desk with a note telling her to go up the roof. She does so and finds herself not with the blur, but with the DA. He explains to Lois that she should reveal to him who the real identity of the Blur but she refuses. The DA then reveals his plan that he’ll have Lois killed and he’ll pin the blame on the blur. The goons of the DA comes in and throws Lois off the roof. Fortunately for Lois though she manages to hang on a flag pole.

As the crowds gather outside the Daily Planet to watch Lois dangling from the pole, Clark picks this up and zooms in to the roof. He can’t do his Blur thing since there are hundreds if not thousands of bystanders watching below (with cameras). He tries to go down the ledge and reaches out to Lois. In this moment, Lois tells Clark that he should let him go and that she knows that Clark has been living two lives ever since. Before Clark can reach out, Lois finally falls, exhausted for clinging on to the flag pole.

Fortunately for the two of them, the Wonder Twins were monitoring everything. Using their powers they cover the street in mist and fog, allowing Clark to do his thing and saves Lois. To cut the long story short, Lois tries to thank Clark for saving her, Clark denies, and a fake phone call from Chloe masquerading as the Blur throws Lois into utter confusion once again.

In a session with her therapist, Lois reveals that she’s falling for Clark more than the Blur. She then meets Clark again at the Daily Planet where Clark tells Lois that he got glasses. Lois gives a bad joke, walks about, but then goes back to Clark and plants one hell of a kiss. However, the kiss turns into an epileptic shock as Lois passes out as she gets bombarded once again with mental images. Episode ends there.

Just some points on the episode that I liked and disliked:

- Chloe is shaping up to be on of the more influential figures in the life of Clark.
- I love how they’re moving the story towards Clark-Lois. I really hated Lana Lang.
- I’m missing Lex Luthor. This show needs a meaner bad ass villain. Tess Mercer isn’t cutting it. Zodd is boring.
- Wonder Twins were a good addition to the series. Hopefully this isn’t the last we see of them.

That’s about it! Can’t wait for Smallville S909!
