Ragnarok 3rd Job Guillotine Cross Sprite and Skills
This is a long overdue post. Gravity released the sprites and skill list for one of the most anticipated Ragnarok Online 3rd Job Classes, the Guillotine Cross. What makes this class really exciting is that it has a very dark, mysterious, and cool feel to it which is natural for Assassin-based job classes. Anyway, I did some initial analysis of the new skills of the Guillotine Cross. It looks like the Guillotine Cross will continue to be a nightmare in PVP. Check out why after the jump.
Some of the most notable skills the Guillotine Cross brings to the table are:
CROSS IMPACT
Description: Description: Strikes a single target rapidly for 7 hits. Range 3 cells.DARK ILLUSION
Description: Rapidly closes the distance to a target and deals damage. Has a low chance to trigger Cross Impact.
These two skills combined can be a major factor in PVP scenarios. One of the problems of melee based classes is their inability to reach their target given all of the snare, stun, and slow abilities. A skill that allows a Guillotine Cross to close in instantly with a chance to trigger one of their most devastating melee attacks is just terrifying - especially if you’re a soft mage or hunter.
NEW POISONS
Paralize: For 300 seconds, decreases attack speed by -10%, evasion -10%, and movement speed by 1/2.
Pyrexia: For 300 seconds, causes incurable blindness and causes the player to see illusions. Sometimes causes 100 damage which can interupt casting of skills.
Disheart: For 300 seconds, drops the effectiveness of recovery on the target by 20%. This effect stacks with critical wounds.
Leech End: For 300 seconds, drains HP every second.
Antidote: Cancels out the effects of a Guillotine Cross poison on a single target.
Venom Bleed: For 15 seconds, reduces max HP by 15%.
Magic Mushroom: For 300 seconds, every 4 seconds you lose 3% of your HP and involuntarially cast a random skill.
Toxin: For 300 seconds, every 3 seconds it causes the damage motion on your character, interrupting any skills. Skills not interrupted do not receive the effects of your weapon or cards.
Oblivion Curse: For 300 seconds causes the target to suffer from amnesia. While in amnesia it blocks natural SP recovery, and cannot be canceled via Lex Divinia or green potion. While in this status you cannot use any skills.
Here’s a very nice addition to the Guillotine Cross class - new poisons! Each poison has a distinct ability which can help in either PVE or PVP scenarios. The Oblivion Curse poison can literally block out any chances of retaliating in PVP since those under it’s effect can’t use their skills.
ROLLING CUTTER
Description: Katar Exclusive Skill. Using the katar strikes in a rotation in a 3×3 area around the player striking all enemies in range. Each rotation increases your rotation counter, which increases the damage of Cross Ripper Slasher. You can’t have more than 10 rotation counters.CROSS RIPPER SLASHER
Description: Consumes the rotation counters accumulated from Rolling Cutter. The spinning blade is shot out dealing strong damage to a target. The damage is increased by the number of counters. After using Cross Ripper Slasher your counters are reset to 0. Range 7 cells.
The two skills listed above is the most powerful combo attack of the Guillotine Cross. Basically you keep on using Rolling Cutter to get 10 rotation counters. Note that Rolling Cutter is AOE and can be a pretty good weapon in portal defenses or in melee rumble fights. After getting the rotation cutters, you can then unleash one devastating Cross Ripper Slasher to one target which deals massive amounts of damage.
Taking all the new skill into account, I’d have to say that the Guillotine Cross will still be a major force on the battlefield. The new skills can literally change the tide of battle in PVP - especially in War of Emperium. They have a good mix of defensive and offensive skills, mostly centered on PVP.

The Philippine Ragnarok Online Team recently posted the official FAQ of the upcoming server merge at the Ragnarok website. I’ve already posted my thoughts and comments about this program and I’m really excited to see what will happen to the community post-merge. It will be very interesting to see what the guilds will do in the light of a new political and game landscape. Who will forge alliances? Who will end up being bitter enemies? Ah the drama. Hahaha! NEW CHAOS SERVER1. What is the new subscription rate for new Chaos?
To be announced
2. What will happen to our accounts after server merge?
2.a. If your account has a total of 9 characters in all three (3) servers (Baldur, Freya and Tyr) and 300 items stored in Kafra, no need to worry; everything will be copied to the new server.2.b If your account has more than 9 characters (collectively within three servers) but less than or equal to 18 characters, your account will be split into two (2).
2.c If your account has more than 18 characters, your account will be split into three(3).
2.d If your account has more than 300 items but less than 601 stored inside the Kafra storage within the 3 servers, your account will be split into 2.
Example: Freya kafra 300 items, Baldur Kafra 300 items, Tyr 0 item = 2 split accounts
2.e If your account has more than 600 items stored in kafra in 3 servers, your account will be split into 3.
Example: Freya Kafra 299 items, Baldur Kafra 300 items, Tyr Kafra 100 items = 3 split accounts3. How to avoid split accounts?
3.a. It is very important that the total number of characters in one (1) account DO NOT exceed 9 characters all across three (3) servers (Baldur, Freya and Tyr) and the total number of items stored in Kafra in three (3) servers (Baldur, Freya and Tyr) do not exceed 300.
*ADVISORY: We advise everyone to please delete ALL unnecessary characters or sell useless items in your account. There should be a total of 9 characters and 300 items stored in your Kafra all across three (3) servers (Baldur, Freya and Tyr) before the server merge.4. If I have split account how do I recover it?
4.a. If your account is split, the original account (your original username) will contain the primary characters (the order of priority is Baldur->Freya->Tyr). Split account username will get a suffix 01 or 02 with same password as their original account.
Example:
original username: ragnarok
split account username1 : ragnarok01
split account username 2: ragnarok025. What if I have the same character names? Can I change it?
5.a. Characters with the same name will have a suffix added on their names. All characters in Baldur will keep their original name.
Ex - CharKoTo_tyr , CharKoTo_fre5.b. Characters with a suffix added in their name have 11 days (Nov 15 to Nov 26) to change their names through “Change name” button in the char select screen. After 12 days, the Change Name function will be disabled. You can only change names once.
6. What will happen to my game RoK Points?
6.a. You will keep your RoK points if your account is not split.6.b. In case your account is split, your primary account will retain the Rok points (the order of priority is Baldur->Freya->Tyr).
6.c. All 2nd and 3rds Accounts will NOT get any Rok Points.
7. Meaning if I’m from FREYA or TYR, I will not get any RoK points in my second account if my account splits?
7.a. Technically, yes. That’s why we encourage everyone to make sure that the total number of characters in your account (in all servers) is nine (9) and Kafra items at 300 pcs or less. This will ensure that your account will not get split and that account will have all the Rok points and game time that you have stored up.8. What about the gametime for my 2nd or 3rd accounts?
All 2nd or 3rd accounts due to split accounts will have 2 hours game time.9. Do I keep my Kafra pass?
All Kafra pins will be reset. All you have to do is set a new kafra password.10. If I’m an Acolyte or Priest, do I keep the saved warp points?
All saved warp points will be deleted. This affects all jobs that have the Warp Portal skill (Acolyte, High Acolyte, Priest, High Priest, Monk, Champion, and Super Novice).11. How about our quests? Should I start all over again?
11.a. All completed quests by your characters will not be affected, so if the quest is not repeatable, you will not be able to do it again after the merge:
Example: Godly Seals, Sign Quest, etc11.b. Players should still be able to finish incomplete quests after the merge, but please read the advisory below.
* ADVISORY. We advise everyone who has on-going quests to finish it before the server maintenance on Nov 14 to avoid problems.
12. Our guild owns an Agit in Prontera that has an Economy of 75 and Defense of 100.
12.a Economy and safeguard of all agits will reset back to 1.12.b All Agit ownership will reset (WOE1 and 2). Players will have to take over Agits again once the server is up after the merge.
13. How about our guilds? I heard that there will be a reset guild or something?
13.a. One of the unique features of this merge is the purging of all guilds. Meaning, guilds will be deleted and refreshed. This is to avoid technical issues and guild bugs that happened on the previous mergers.
13.b. Also, all emperiums will be deleted during the maintenance.
13.c. But don’t worry, once the server is up, the biggest race in the history of Philippine Ragnarok online will commence. “The Ragnarok Amazing Guild Race” will automatically start.

14. I’m the top Alchemist in Freya, do I keep my rank?
14.a All ranking systems will be reset: Alchemist Rankings, Blacksmith Rankings, Taekwon Rankings, Aldebaran Race Track Rankings and Izlude Arena Rankings15. Hey, are inventory items and items in my cart safe?
Yes. You can store your items in your cart. Items in your inventory should also remain intact. We also recommend that you take screenshots of your most valuable items.16. Will my main account remain linked to my MyLU account? Will my split accounts be automatically linked to my MyLU account?
Your main account will remain linked to your MyLU account. Split accounts will not be automatically linked. It is recommended that you change your password and keep it to yourself before the merge to ensure that you will be the one to link your split accounts to your MyLU account.
17. What will happen if I have 30,000 pcs of elunium in my Kafra storage in Freya and another 10,000 pcs elunium in Baldur’s kafra storage?
All items in excess of 30,000 limit (ex. elunium) will be deleted. So we advise everyone to sell those excess items before the server merge.18. I need to delete some of my characters to avoid split account, but I forgot the email. What should I do?
File a ticket in our Customer support page https://support.levelupgames.ph/login.aspx and request for email change. The customer support will give TOP priority to all Ragnarok tickets from Nov 7 to Nov 14th.19. What about the pk setting of Tyr?
The new Chaos server will apply the settings of Baldur and Freya.20. How come change name option is not applied to Baldur characters?
As of now, change name option is only available to Freya and Tyr characters affected in the split. But don’t worry, a change name feature is already under development and will be implemented once everything is finalized. Just wait for more updates.
The good news is that there will be a cut in the subscription rates for Philippine Ragnarok Online. There’s no word yet on the exact amount so just keep on checking the official website every now and then for more updates.

Thoughts on the Upcoming Server Merge
Philippine Ragnarok Online will have one more major server merge that will bring together the 3 subscription servers - Baldur, Tyr, and Freya. The new server will be called New Chaos and the date of the merge is slated for November 14, 2008. There are no major details yet posted on the official website like the actual mechanics but it will probably be the same as the previous merges that we’ve done before. There are a lot of pros and cons for this move but I believe that this will be for the better. I have a few reflections and thoughts about the merge that I’d like to share with everyone today with this post. Feel free to leave your comment as well.
BAKBAKAN NA!
To quote Powerspoonz: “Bakbakan na!” That pretty much sums up the pros of the server merge. New alliances will be made and this means a more vibrant political in-game landscape which will result to more action-packed and intense sieges. The balance of power will definitely be shaken up since guilds that are powerful in their own home servers will now have to contend with the best that the other servers have.
It will be interesting to monitor what the top guilds from each server will do given the new scenario. Will they ally with one another? Or will they bash each other’s skulls in? If I know the community right - it will be more of the “bashing”. In my 5 year gaming career one thing has always been constant in gaming communities and that’s the fact that alliances will always crumble and end. I’ve seen this happen countless times across games and servers and I’m sure that whatever alliance happens after the merge it will only be temporary.
TECH PROBLEMS?
The major concern being raised by the community is the possibility of having technical problems ruin the gameplay post-merge. Since we’re putting everyone in one place, people are spectulating that the latency will be terrible. We obviously can’t let this happen because it ruins the purpose of the merge in the first place. I can’t guarantee you guys 100% that there won’t be lag but I can assure you that everyone here will be prioritizing the performance of the servers after the merge.
OLD CHAOS
I can still remember the old Chaos server days. I was one of the first 50 people to log-in Chaos during the Beta Testing way back in 2003. I was there when the botting issue exploded. I was there when the Ragnarok players staged a mini-rally at Glorietta during a Level Up event. I was there when the concurrent users of Ragnarok in Chaos alone hit 16,000. I was there when the hack-delete sprees occured - and sadly I was part of the people who were erased, hehe. I was part of the in-game politics, having led a guild and faction.
Ragnarok Online, though riddled with controveries, has been one of the most memorable and enjoyable experiences I’ve had and I will cherish the good and bad memories that I have about it. The server merge will open new doors for everyone and I’m sure that I would be excited about it if I was still an active guild leader in Chaos/Baldur.

2x/3x EXP Modifiers & the RPC Finals
Hey everyone! Sorry it’s been a while since I posted. I’ve been really busy preparing for Level Up LIVE, Grand Chase, and the Ragnarok World Championships. Anyway, I just wanted to sneak a post in about the latest updates for Ragnarok Online. To start things off - we have a bonus EXP week starting today until October 1! P2P servers will be on 2x while F2P servers will be on 3x. This is a good opportunity for everyone to recharge since we’re gearing up for the next major patch of Philippine Ragnarok Online, Demise of Morroc. Also, I’d like to plug the upcoming Ragnarok Philippine Championships finals which will be held this coming October 4 at the Mall of Asia.
Here’s a picture of the final 8 teams that will clash at the SM Mall of Asia. We worked really hard to come up with a plan that will have all 8 teams battle it out live and not online. This eliminates the issues that we encountered last year wherein there were several complaints of latency and lag. Hopefully this year’s RPC finals will be smoother. I’d like to wish everyone who’s participating the best of luck. Remember that whoever wins on October 4 will be the official Philippine Team that will represent our country in the Ragnarok World Championships at Level Up LIVE on Oct 18-19. We should all unite behind that team and support them since it’s no longer about guilds or factions anymore - it’s now about national pride.
I’m really excited for Level Up Live! Imagine the electricity in the crowd as we announce the Philippine Team! There will be 12 teams total and if we win this one, we prove to the world that we are the best players - period. After all, it is the Ragnarok WORLD Championships.
So with that I wish everyone the best of luck! For now keep the spirit of competition fierce. But after we declare the winner, let’s rally behind our country and our flag. Rok On Team Philippines!

Ragnarok 3rd Job Class Rune Knight Possible Skills
In my recent post about Ragnarok Online’s 3rd Job Class Rune Knight, I listed the concept skill names which were released by jRO and kRO. There’s been a lot of talk going on about what these skills do. The names are really something and you can literally derive tons of possible abilties from them. For example, there are several skills with the word “Dragon”. Does this mean that the Peco Peco might be replaced with Petite-like Draconic Mounts? If so… then that would make the Rune Knight 10x more cool than the Lord Knight (ROFL)! I was discussing this with one of the Ragnarok GM’s here at Level Up and we made up our own list of what these skills do. Note that this is just purely theory and there is no basis whatsoever for these descriptions.

Ragnarok Online: The Endless Tower
One of the most interesting contents that Episode 18: Demise of Morroc is the new dungeon called the Endless Tower. This is actually not well-known yet except for the hardcore players here who frequently visit Doddler’s website or other Ragnarok fan sites that feature future contents for the game. Basically the Endless Tower is made up of 100 rooms, each room having a set of monsters that you have to defeat before you move on to the next floor. Note that you have a 4-hour time limit and you can only do this once every week. I daresay that this is one of the most challenging and hardest features I’ve seen developed for Ragnarok Online. So what’s the reward for clearing this hellish dungeon? Other than the EXP and the drops from fighting hordes of MVP bosses scattered in the 100 floors, you will also get to challenge this guy if you reach the top level - Naght Sieger.

ENDLESS TOWER STORY
In Alberta, the taverns and inns were literally abuzz with a tower that suddenly appeared out of nowhere. Apparently when Satan Morroc came back to life and blew up half the desert town of his namesake, the thick fog that was covering this ancient tower dissipated. Upon the sighting of this new discovery, the Rune Midgard Government summoned the bravest warriors the land had to offer to investigate what’s inside the tower.
Unknown to everyone, the tower is actually home to various demons - one of them is Entweihen Knothen, who apparently used the tower as his base of operations against another demon known as Nacht Sieger. Upon learning of Entweihen’s ambitions, Nacht Sieger was the one who cast the powerful spell binding the tower in fog and mist, never to be discovered again until now.
Once a party of adventures clears all 100 floors and defeats Entweihen Knothen, Nacht Sieger will appear to wreak havoc once again.

- When dealing regular physical damage there is a chance to autocast Meteor Storm Lv 3 and Frost Nova Lv 5.
- Created by combining Naght Seiger’s two swords at an NPC on floor 102 of the Endless Tower.
For all the other classes, you can still get the various drops that the MVPs give. Note that they’re all scattered all over the 100 floors of the Endless Tower. Entweihen also drops really good wands for healers, wizards, and sages.
To those who can’t wait to try this out, download the Sakray client and log-in! The test servers are on 50x EXP right now which means it won’t take you more than 3 days to reach max level. I’ll be writing more about this great patch as the weeks go by. Cheers everyone!

Ghostring/Phreeoni Scrolls & Roboeye Premium Headgear
Two new consumable buff scrolls have been added to the Valkyrie and Valhalla servers. Both scrolls are very powerful in their own right and they can definitely change the tide of battle if used correctly. The first item is the Ghostring Scroll. It temporarily gives you the benefits of the Ghostring Card for 1 minute. Imagine what you can do with this combined with Unfrozen armor? You can literally be walking fortresses of doom! Ashura Strikes won’t bring you down nor will you be frozen into place via frost jokes, storm gusts, or frost drivers. The second item is the Phreeoni Scroll. It gives +100 Hit for 3 minutes! If you want to put all your stats on Strength and Agility for your Assassin - then go ahead and just use this to be able to take your enemies out! Lastly, we’ve also added a new premium animated headgear that is both stylish and deadly. Check out the complete stats of these 3 new items after the jump.

Perfect World: Revenge of the Jade Throne
Level Up Games’ latest free-to-play MMORPG, Perfect World, is gearing up for a major in-game event called the “Revenge of the Jade Throne”. The event will be in testing phase for the Serpent server first and it will be adopted to the other serves once the details and mechanics have been perfected. What do we do once we`re in the Clan?
Join us in attacking territories and in events for ROJT. This is your chance to join the Territorial War and even own a Territory if you haven’t been invited to a clan before.What do we get from Joining the Jade Army?
You get to fight in Territorial Wars alongside the story NPCs (Gen. Wan Luan) and the Divinities (FelMaiden, SteelWing, MeiShen, StormHoof, SkyeMist, DreadFang and SamHok) inside the clan. If we`re able to defeat a Clan, then own a territory as well.Just remember, we will not give any Yuan, Items, and Weapons, Armors or Item Mall items to keep the Story Event fair.
What if we go against the Jade Empire (Clan JadeArmy)?
If your clan wants to challenge the Empire, then feel free to do so. We will always max bid (200m Yuan) a Territory. So if you beat the JadeArmy, you`re guaranteed maximum returns after a Territorial War.How long can I stay?
You will only be allowed to stay until the next recruitment drive comes. In short, once we started recruiting again for the JadeArmy, that’s the time for you to leave the Clan unless you qualify again and win the recruitment events.Is there any other way for me to join the JadeArmy rather than winning the events?
None. We will always have events that will grant an invite to the JadeArmy, the Empire`s Clan. So make sure you’re updated with the latest events for Perfect World.
