Iron Man 2 Official Trailer
Iron Man 2 is a must-see movie for 2010. Marvel gave all the fans a holiday treat by recently releasing the official Iron Man 2 trailer online at their site. I just watched it a few minutes before this post and let me just say that it kicks so much ass! Hahaha! Anyway, before I give my comments and thoughts on the trailer, you guys should watch it first.
Privatizing World Peace
That has got to be one of the funniest quotes in the movie, haha! It was also fun seeing Stark unwind and party without hiding his identity. There’s a part in the trailer where there are girls dancing on the stage wearing “mini Iron Man” costumes which I just found hilarious. It was a bit weird watching Gwyneth Paltrow make out with the helmet though, hehe.
I’m not too excited with the major opponent though. Whiplash seems too tame for me and I was hoping to see Mandarin in Iron Man 2 since he got a lot of references in the first movie. Maybe they’ll put him in somewhere there and we’ll finally see Iron Man’s epic foe in the third installment.
Based on the Marvel site, they’re on schedule to release all the other marvel films. Here’s the line-up:
“Iron Man 2″ is one of a continuing slate of films being produced by Marvel Studios based on the Marvel characters, including “Thor” on May 20, 2011, “The First Avenger: Captain America” on July 22, 2011 and “The Avengers” on May 4, 2012.
FYI, Iron Man 2 is slated to be shown May, 2010.

2010 Golden Globe Nominations
The 2010 Golden Globe Nominations was recently released and the two major contenders so far are Avatar and Up in the Air. I haven’t watched both movies yet but I’ve seen the trailers and I’m almost 100% sure that I’ll be lining up at the theater houses for Avatar. Another interesting thing in the 2010 Golden Globe Nominations list is that Meryl Streep got nominated twice in the same category! She’s the best actress nominee for two films “It’s complicated” and “Julie and Julia”.
Personally I don’t have any major favorites except for “Up” in the Best Animated Movie category, haha! I totally loved that movie. Yes, I’m a kid at heart.

Clash of the Titans Movie Trailer
I haven’t been blogging about any upcoming movies lately but this one just got my attention. Clash of the Titans is shaping up to be a 300-meets-Scorpion King-meets-Lord of the Rings kind of flick. You get the “epicness” of Leonidas, combine it with the cheese of Scorpion King, and the scale it up to the levels of Middle Earth! To get a better idea of what I’m talking about, better watch the trailer:
Never knew rock metal would mix so well with Greek mythology. xD
The plot is about Zeus’ son, Perseus. His main quest is to save Princess Andromeda but in order to do so he needs to complete several tasks given by Zeus. His journey takes him all over the world, including a battle with the legendary Medusa as well as trying to tame and capture the Pegasus. Movie is directed by Loius Leterrier and it stars Sam Worthington.

Michael Jackson: This is it
Last night I was finally able to watch Michael Jackson’s “This is it” movie. I had high expectations since most of my friends who watched it gave a lot of good reviews. In fact, some of them were really raving about the movie. Like a true MJ fanboy, I lined up at the theater in Promenade, Greenhills, and eagerly anticipated the show to start after I got to my seat with my girlfriend. Let me just take this opportunity to share some thoughts about the movie with you guys.
CONS
- MJ had really weird taste for clothes. In some of his performances, he was wearing orange pants! Haha!
- Some of the parts were dragging. Understandable though since there was only so much footage that they could work on for this movie.
- MJ with facial hair is creepy.
- He didn’t dance as well compared to his previous concerts but he definitely showed that 50 year olds can still put up one hell of a show!
PROS
- The Earth Song segment really got me. Almost shed a tear.
- I loved how MJ’s team tried to push everything to the limit. One of the scenes in the movie showed the costume designer explaining how he was working with fashion designers, scientists, and engineers for the various costumes of MJ. Talk about insane right?
- The sets and the pre-song videos were superb. I enjoyed the Thriller segment a lot.
- Lots of dancing! Even for a 50 y/o, MJ can still move quite well.
- The movie showed a very human and warm side to MJ.
- The last song, Man in the Mirror, just blew me away.
- MJ is not just a singer or a dancer, he’s one of the best performers this world has ever seen. He’s so professional, dedicated, and passionate with his craft! Truly inspiring!
I feel blessed to have watched this movie and get a glimpse of who Michael Jackson is beneath all the Hollywood glitter and glamor. To those who are MJ fans, you have to watch this. By the way, there’s a 30-40 second segment after the credits.
The biggest CON of all in this entire thing is that the concert didn’t push through. If it did I’m sure MJ would have revolutionized how entertainers do concerts once again.

Anthony Hopkins to play Odin in Thor
I wasn’t really too excited about watching the upcoming Marvel flick, Thor. However they just gave me one very good reason to go out and buy a ticket once it goes out. One of my all-time favorite actors, Anthony Hopkins, is currently under negotiations to be cast as the god of Thunder, Odin! Wooohoooooo!
Thor is officially Hannibal’s son. Hahaha!

King of Fighters Movie butchers KOF original character concepts
I just saw the King of Fighters movie behind the scenes trailer and I was really disappointed and frustrated at what I saw. The fight scenes look good but I can’t get over how they literally butchered the original characters of the game with their cast selection. Terry Bogard, my all-time fighting game favorite character, is being played by David Leitch. No offense to David but he really looks too old to play Terry. His face, mannerisms doesn’t strike me as the “Lone Wolf” image which Terry made famous. Other than Terry, they also made terrible casting choices with Mai and Rugal. Pictures and a few more insights after the break.
Here’s David Leitch who plays Terry Bogard. I hate the red vest and how old he looks!
Next up we have Mai Shiranui which is being played by Maggie Q. I know this girl has moves but she doesn’t have the right curves for the original character. Mai is supposed to be insanely sexy and flirty, something that Maggie Q doesn’t get across too well. Don’t get me wrong, Maggie is beautiful, but I don’t think she fits the bill for Mai.
Then we have Rugal. The guy playing him just looks lame. Rugal is supposed to be a really evil bad ass villain but this guy looks like a wimp! I don’t see him beating the bloody hell out of Kyo and Terry. He kinda looks too innocent, haha!
I’m personally bracing myself for another debacle similar to what happened with Dragonball the movie. Hopefully though it won’t be as bad as that. I’ll probably still watch it but only because of the IP and I was a huge fan of the game. From the looks of things though I’ll be giving a scathing review afterwards, haha!

Harry Brown – Must Watch Movie!
After all the major hollywood blockbusters for the year one would think there are only a few good titles lined up for the 4th quarter of 2009. However, it looks like I have one more movie that I just have to watch. I came across the trailer of a British movie called Harry Brown. It stars Michael Caine and man it kicks ass! It reminds me so much of one of my favorite action movies – Taken. Watch the trailer after the break.
They should really be making more movies like this.

Twilight Saga New Moon Trailers
A lot of girls all over the world are definitely waiting for the second installment of the Twilight Saga – New Moon. I’ve actually read all four books and watched the first movie already. It was quite an interesting read but I found the 2nd book to be the most boring and the 4th book to be to er… sci-fi. Anyway, they’ve released the latest theatrical trailer during the recently concluded MTV awards. Check it out after the break.

ASTRO BOY MOVIE TRAILER
Looks like they have the formula correct. It’s a good mix of action and comedy. I particularly didn’t like how emo the old Astro Boy cartoons was. Based on this trailer the movie will actually be worth watching
