Bleach Movie 3: Fade to Black Favorite Moments (1/2)
Bleach Movie 3: Fade to Black recently came out and it’s nothing short of a blast! I’m loving the movie so much that I’ve actually watched it thrice already in a span of two days, hehe. To do justice to the movie, I’m doing a 2-part post which just shares with everyone some of what I consider to be the best moments in Bleach Movie 3: Fade to Black. For this initial post, let me share with you guys two moments which I think were really kick ass. The first top moment is kinda gross, but I think that’s what makes it amazing, haha!
BLEACH MOVIE 3: FADE TO BLACK TOP MOMENT – MAYURI’S MEMORY BACK-UP
This moment literally proved how much of a mad scientist shinigami captain Mayuri is. I mean come on… here’s a guy who backs up his memory by storing what looks like a replica of his brain in his computer! Someone sell this guy an external hard drive. Hahaha! What makes this particular moment even more interesting is that it’s kinda dejavu. As most of you guys probably know, Kisuke Urahara was the one who freed Mayuri from a prison and gave him the opportunity to become a shinigami captain. It was nice to see the two again in almost the same situation.
BLEACH MOVIE 3: FADE TO BLACK TOP MOMENT – URAHARA KISUKE
All throughout the movie, I would be at the edge of my seat each time I saw Urahara, especially when he made his “triumphant” return to Soul Society, complete with his captain robe! It was surreal seeing Urahara in captain garb standing side by side with Ichigo. Anyway, other than his initial entrance, I particularly loved it when Urahara was battling the snake things in final battle. He used his Zanpaktou, Benihime to wipe the floor with the snakes. It was cool seeing him use different techniques in the fight. Loved how he used it as a shield and then turned it into an offensive barrage of small ceros. Too bad he didn’t release it though.

SMART B Free Day
Hale performing at the SMART B free day event
I was invited to SMART’s B Free event last Saturday at the Mega Tent along Meralco Avenue in Ortigas. They launched the newly UAAP/NCAA themed SMART BRO Plug-it USB modems. They also lowered the price of the modems to just P895. This kinda made me feel bad since I was one of the first users here to actually buy the modems when they first came out at P4,500. Anyway, what’s amazing about this event is that they actually gave away 10,000 units of the modems FOR FREE to NCAA/UAAP students. OMGWTFBBQ right? Check out the designs after the break.

By the way, I was able to get 2 units of the Ateneo designed plug-its (one for me and one for my girlfriend). I’ve yet to test it out though but I’m sure it will work just like my other plug-it.
Other than the free plug-its, discounted modems and PCs, SMART also invited Hale to play. Had fun watching them sing a few of their songs before I called it a day and went home.

Level Up Presents Crazy Kart 2 (CK2RBO)!
One of my last projects in Level Up was working with the Crazy Kart team to prepare the launch of the sequel of Crazy Kart – CK2RBO. I recently just found out that they already launched the teaser website and it’s really exciting to see it come to life. We’ve been planning and talking about this project for the past few months. Anyway, for Crazy Kart 1 fans, don’t be alarmed. Level Up will continue to operate CK along side CK2RBO. Info on what makes CK2RBO different from CK after the break.
Here are some of the new features that CK2RBO will bring into play:
Race Team Formation
I think this is the biggest feature of the game that will make it a huge hit. In the original CK, you can’t make teams or guilds. CK2RBO allows gamers to form their own clubs and they can actually level the guild up which will unlock more features for them later on. I also heard that race teams can “own” maps depending on their performance.
Character Progression
Gamers can also increase their driving rank based provided they accomplish several requirements and tasks. This is a step beyond your usual character leveling. Going up levels also provide various bonuses.
New Maps, Karts, and Characters
And of course… maps, karts, and more avatars!
CK2RBO will be more mature, edgier, and definitely sexier. As you guys know, Gaby Dela Merced is the official endorser of the game. She wasn’t used too much in the original Crazy Kart but she’ll play a major role in the promotions of CK2RBO. You can read about my first impressions about Gaby in my earlier post.
How to join CBT
Mechanics are fairly simple. Just make sure you have a Crazy Kart account, download the CK2RBO client, and top up at least 100 bucks anytime from September 7 – October 7. That will automatically qualify you for a CK2RBO CBT pass.

Naruto Shippuuden Episode 124: Deidara vs Sasuke
After long months of filler eps, Naruto Shippuuden is finally interesting again! Naruto Shippuuden episode 124 continues the epic battle between Sasuke and Akatsuki member Deidara. In the previous episode, we saw Deidara use his most lethal technique. He spat out a gigantic C4 version of himself. While it appears to be just a normal giant bomb, there’s “more to it than meets the eye”. Watching this episode really made me a fan of Deidara. You just have to admire the tenacity and skill of this guy. A synopsis and review of the latest episode after the break.
Naruto Shippuuden 124 Synopsis & Review
After the bomb explodes, nothing really happens at first. However after a few seconds, creatures near the radius of the explosion start to disintegrate slowly. Even Sasuke, who appeared to have been invincible so far, crumbles to dust. Apparently the C4 technique of Deidara releases small and almost invisible mini-bombs that enter the body and flows through the bloodstream. Upon his signal the bombs explode, destroying the body at the cellular level. Truly a terrifying technique.
However, all is not yet lost for Sasuke. While Deidara is celebrating, Sasuke appears behind him and pierces his chest with a Chidori. Sasuke was able to avoid the deadly C4 blast through Genjutsu and using his Sharingan to evade the mini-bombs. According to Sasuke’s explanation, his eyes can see the different colors of Chakra, making the mini-bombs visible.
Now this is the part where I really became a Deidara fan. Apparently this guy learned a lot from his encounter with Itachi. He trained his left eye to resist the Genjutsu of the Sharingan. The Deidara that Sasuke pierced was just a clay clone and the real Deidara appears and traps Sasuke in another gigantic C4 bomb. While inside the prison, the mini-bombs invade Sasuke’s body. Sasuke manages to escape the prison but it’s too late. Deidara sets off the bomb and Sasuke’s body crumbles to dust again.
But wait… there’s more! While celebrating his victory, Deidara gets the shock of his life when Sasuke emerges from the bushes and lands a solid series of punches at his face.
How did he survive?
According to his lengthy explanation, Sasuke was able to deduce that a way to deactivate the bombs was to use lightning techniques on them. He experimented with this theory on several occasions in the battle. Deidara’s bombs were made from the Earth element, which is naturally weak to Lightning. While trapped in the C4 bomb, Sasuke “chidori’d” himself to deactivate the bombs.
In a last ditch attempt to prove that he’s the best, Deidara uses his last and final technique. He turns himself into a powerful explosive. He kills himself but the blast radius of the destructive bomb goes up to 10 KM. The episode ends there.
Even though I already know what’s going to happen in the next episode because of the manga, I still can’t wait for Naruto Shippuuden episode 125! I know it’s going to be a… well, to take a page from Deidara’s book, “blast”!

Naruto Shippuuden 123: Sasuke versus Deidara
I haven’t been watching Naruto Shippuuden for the longest time because I got turned off with all the filler arcs that they’ve been doing recently. Other than the eps being fillers, for some reason the quality of the animation and artwork during that time also went down the drain. It wasn’t only until a few days ago that I found out that the fillers already stopped. I’ve been catching up and I was finally able to watch Naruto Shippuuden 123 last night. It was a “blast” seeing Sasuke take on Akatsuki’s Deidara and Tobi. I was able to read the manga ages ago and it was cool seeing it translated into animation. Especially Tobi! That guy has such an annoying voice in the anime, haha! Naruto Shippuuden 123 review and synopsis after the break.
Naruto Shippuuden 123 features the battle of Sasuke and Akatsuki’s Deidara. Tobi plays a minor role in the battle. Anyway, the fight begins with Deidara suddenly attacking Sasuke from above. Sasuke manages to dodge the explosives and quickly counterattacks, taking down Tobi. However it seems that Tobi didn’t get hurt at all despite getting cleanly slashes by Sasuke’s katana.
Deidara goes on the offensive, sending several small bombs swarming after Sasuke. As expected though Sasuke manages to avoid all of them without too much trouble.
A bit frustrated, Deidara summons his favorite explosive – something that looks like a giant clay dragon. The dragon lets out smaller clay mines then takes to the air. Sasuke tries to reach the dragon with his expanding chidori but he’s not able to hit it. Deidara then attacks, sending down a gigantic clay bomb from the dragon’s mouth. Sasuke manages to avoid it but he’s caught in a clay explosive land mine. Sasuke manages to survive by transforming using the cursed seal from Orochimaru.
Sasuke is caught in the explosion and he’s injured. In fact, one of his wings is completely blown off. Deidara attacks again but this time Sasuke fights back with a strategic counterattack. He glides away, avoiding the bomb then steps on his sword. A pair of giant shurikens almost hit Deidara, but this was just a diversion. Because he avoided the shurikens, Deidara is now within range. Sasuke leaps up and slashes with his Chidori, cutting off the wing of the giant clay dragon. Sasuke follows this up with his shurikens once again, impaling Deidara in the dragon. The Akatsuki member falls to the clay explosive minefield and a gigantic explosion follows after.
However it looks like Deidara is still alive. He managed to kick free from the Shurikens just before he fell to the ground. In a desperate attempt to win and to prove that his explosives are the best, he uses his most powerful technique which is actually a very vain attack. He releases a gigantic Deidara clay explosive. Episode ends here. We’ll have to wait for Naruto Shippuuden 124 next week.

Naruto Manga 460 – Sasuke, Raikage, Naruto, & Tobi
Naruto Manga 460 has a lot of sudden plot twists and turns. First, we see the start of confrontations between Sasuke and the Raikage. On the other hand, we also have Naruto facing off with none other than Tobi (Madara Uchiha).
In the last issue, we saw the yucky (lol) Akatsuki member appear in the middle of the Hokage meeting and tells everyone that Sasuke is nearby. Raikage is enraged and sets out to kill Sasuke. While all of this is happening, Tobi also makes his move, suddenly appearing in Naruto’s room. Before the two could rumble, Kakashi appears and “restrains” him.
While Sasuke was getting rid of the Samurais, we see him summon a darker and even more powerful energy from within. Could it be possible that like Naruto, he now has a tailed beast inside of him? Could this be the plan of Madara from the very beginning? If this is true, then this is definitely a major plot twist!
After disposing of the Samurai, Sasuke is faced with his greatest challenge yet – the Raikage.
We’ll have to wait till the next weekend though to find out how the battle goes. How I wish we had Naruto Manga 261 spoilers, haha.

Bleach Anime Episode 233
Bleach Anime Episode 233 is finally out. To those who haven’t been watching, we’re actually on a filler arc but it’s one of the more interesting plots that they’ve done for a filler gap. In this arc, the Zanpaktous were freed from the Shinigami and they’ve taken physical form. They’ve rebelled and a brutal fight is now on-going in Soul Society between the physical manifestations of the Zanpaktous and the Shinigami. In the previous ep, we saw Ichigo step in to save Rukia against the leader of the Zanpaktou rebellion – Muramasa. By the way, Muramasa really has a weird sense of style. Not only don’t I like his hair, his outfit is kinda too gay. The long fingers also make him look creepy, haha. Anyway, synopsis and review of Bleach 233 after the break.
BLEACH ANIME EPISODE 233 REVIEW
Muramasa is able to draw out Zangetsu from Ichigo’s body. Zangetsu literally tears into Ichigo, sending him flying all over the place. However at one point in the battle, Ichigo sets his inner hollow free. The mask forms on his face and you can clearly see that Ichigo’s brain was under the control of the hollow. Ichigo then launches a brutal counter attack, pushing back both Muramasa and Zangetsu.
Ichigo does an almost full hollow transformation. The last time I saw him like this was when he was being trained by the Vizards. In his almost full form, Ichigo manages to “knock out” Zangetsu easily with a series of slashes followed by a quick but devastating Cero.
He then turns his attention to Muramasa. Before the hollow-Ichigo goes on a rampage, Ichigo manages to regain control and breaks the hollow transformation. Sad part here is that he’s powerless and he falls to the ground at the mercy of Muramasa. And that’s how Bleach 233 ended.
By the way, in the middle of the episode, Mayuri finds out that Muramasa was able to literally tear out the Zanpaktou from the Shinigami and has altered them in some way. He does more tests in hopes to finally find out what’s happening and how he can reverse it.
Can’t wait to watch Bleach anime Episode 234!

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood Episode 20
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood Episode 20 was just released a few hours ago. I was able to watch it and I was actually excited to do so because it was getting a lot of good reviews from my friends and other anime fans. FMA Episode 20 doesn’t have too much action in terms of fight scenes but it packs a punch in terms of plot development and twists. At this point in the show you really see a major difference between this new series and the old one. I’m very happy that the producers decided to do a remake based on the manga because the story is waaaaaaay better than the old one. Props to the writer and the crew who made this all possible. Anyway, quick synopsis and review of Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood Episode 20 after the break!
Hohenheim comes home and meets Ed. Over dinner, he explains to the Rockbell grandma that the person that came out of the transmutation of Ed and Al wasn’t Tricia. Ed overhears this and is shocked out of his boots. The following morning Hohenheim leaves and gives a warning that the country will be in big trouble soon.
Ed decides to dig up the corpse of what they transmuted. He later confirms that the hair color isn’t the same with his mom and finds out that the skeletal structure even says that the body was that of a man’s. Ed calls up his former master, Izumi, and asks her to double check if the baby that was transmuted was actually hers.
The elder Elric brother goes back to Central and explains what he did to Al and Winry. He then goes on to explain that his findings give him confidence that he can actually get back Al’s body. Ed then gets a call from Izumi confirming that the transmutation product was not actually her baby. This information sets the Elric brothers and Izumi free from their guilt that they killed their mother/baby when they transmuted them.
That’s about it for Full Metal Alchemist Episode 20. It may not sound much but I strongly suggest you guys watch it. Other than the plot changes, the artists really did well with the animation and they also put in a kick-ass soundtrack (especially the last part). I personally cannot wait for Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood Episode 21!

Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood Episode 19
Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood Episode 19 has been out since Monday. I was really excited for this episode since the previous one ended in a major cliffhanger. To those who were able to watch the last ep, we saw Hawkeye getting cornered by Gluttony and Roy Mustang screaming in frustration as he hears the battle ensue between his subordinate and the Homonculous. FMA Brotherhood 19 didn’t disappoint. In fact, it’s one of the most action-packed and fast paced episodes I’ve ever watch so far in this new remake. What’s even more interesting is that they decided to focus on one of my favorite characters – Roy Mustang. Man… this guy is really amazing. I love it how the writers are able to perfectly blend the humor and the drama in the script. Anyway, full review of the episode after the break.
FMA Brotherhood Episode 19 Review
Episode starts off with a bang as Gluttony attacks Hawkeye. She barely manages to live as she’s saved by the cute dog and one of her colleagues. However, they run out of bullets and just before Gluttony takes them both out, a burst of fire blasts the rabid Homonculous out of the tower, sending his burnt body crashing down to the streets below. Roy Mustang saves the day!~
Hawkeye, Mustang, Jean, and Al chase down the real physical body of Barry. The psychotic armor leads the hunt as he’s able to sense the presence of his former body. Eventually they track Barry down to Research Laboratory 3. The armor goes in and attacks, giving the team an excuse to come in as if they were hunting down the lose armor.
Inside they split up into two teams – Hawkeye/Al and Mustang/Jean. Mustang’s team is suddenly attacked by another Homonculous – Lust, the Ultimate Spear. Lust easily impales Jean and manages to also critically wound Mustang. After sending both of them down, Lust moves on to attack Hawkeye, Al, and the armor. However, before she’s able to rend Al into pieces, Mustang steps in again for the save.
Apparently to save himself Mustang burned his wounds to close them. He then blasts Lust again and again with his flames until the Homonculous finally dies and the Philosopher’s Stone inside of her falls to the ground and crumbles.
In the other side of the world, Edward visits his old town again after he’s given an errand by an Ishbalan group of people. Apparently the parents of Winry were able to save countless of lives during the Ishbal war. One of the elders relates to Ed to deliver a message to the graves of Winry’s parents thanking them and saying sorry since both of them were killed by an Ishbalan they treated (which turns out to be Scar).
As he’s on his way home, Ed sees a very familiar man standing over the grave of his mother. Apparently his father decided to finally come back.
Talk about ending the episode in another cliffhanger! Can’t wait for Full Metal Alchemist Brotherhood Episode 20! Hopefully it’s just as good as this one.

Bleach Anime 230 - Reminds me of Final Fantasy
Bleach Anime Episode 230 is just another filler episode but I must say that the writers did a pretty good job ripping off Final Fantasy. They did it rather well do and the new arc that they’re running is actually very interesting. In fact, I find the new line to be more fascinating than watching Ichigo take on Ulquiorra. For me that part is one of the most boring parts in the Bleach Manga so I’m not really too keen on watching it. Bleach Episode 230’s plot is all about the Zanpaktous getting released from the Shinigami and they take physical form to battle their former masters. Reminds me a lot of the espers in Final Fantasy. Bleach Anime 230 Synopsis
The plot is pretty much straightforward. Several shinigami realize that they can’t use the shikai form of their Zanpaktous. Among them are Matsumoto, Toshiro, and even Byakuya senses that something is amiss. Eventually they get summons from the Captain Commander and they all meet up but they are suddenly surprised to find out that the person who actually called them there was a weird looking man named Muramasa.
Komamura releases his Bankai and attacks Muramasa. However, his Bankai turns on him and he barely avoids an overhead blow by Tengen. The huge Bankai then dissipates and is replaced by an almost demonic man with a fiery whip and a huge sword. Apparently, this is the freed physical manifestation of Tengen. The freed Zanpaktou easily crushes Komamura.
Muramasa then reveals that he has “freed” the Zanpaktous of the Shinigami. Several explosions happen all across the city and Muramasa explains that the freed Zanpaktous have already started the rebellion. Muramasa summons all of them to his side and they all confront the Shinigami.
The episode ends with the Zanpaktous staring down on the Shinigami.
I can’t name all the freed Shinigami Zanpaktous but some of them can be easily identified. Just hover over the picture thumbnails or click on them and read the label/name of the picture. I’ve already named those that I could figure out. In the group shot, the little bee girl is Suzumebachi of Soifon, while the Sohee like girl is actually Tobihume. The cat girl is obviously Matsumoto’s Haineko.
Really good filler ep. I’m actually excited for the next part!
